Generally, sewing machines are composed of four parts: head, base, transmission, and accessories.
Two categories. Lock stitch is the most common, consisting of two stitches that interweave with each other like a rope, with the interweaving point in the middle of the seam material. From the cross-section of the stitch, the two stitches lock together like two locks, hence it is called a lock stitch. This type of stitch is used on fabrics with low shrinkage such as cotton, wool, or leather, and has the same shape on both sides, like a dashed line. The thread distribution is dense, and the sewing fastness is generally higher than that of manual sewing.
Chain stitch is formed by the self connection or interconnection of the thread loops of the suture, commonly used are single line chain, double line chain, and triple line wrapped stitch. The characteristic of this type of stitching is that it is elastic and can stretch and contract with the sewing material without breaking the stitching. It is suitable for clothing made of elastic fabrics or for products and clothing blanks that are prone to loose stitching.
In addition, sewing machines can be divided into household, industrial, and service industry machines according to their uses. They can also be divided into hand cranked sewing machines, foot operated sewing machines, and electric sewing machines according to their driving forms
Sewing machine maintenance
Cleaning of sewing machine
1) Clean the feeding teeth by removing the screws between the needle plate and the feeding teeth, removing any lint and dust, and adding a small amount of sewing machine oil.
2) The cleaning of shuttle bed is the core of sewing machine work and the most prone to malfunction. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly remove dirt and add a small amount of sewing machine oil.
3) The surface of the sewing machine and all parts inside the panel should be cleaned regularly.
Oil and lubrication of sewing machine
Special sewing machine oil must be used. After continuous use for a day or a few days, the sewing machine should be fully oiled. If oiling is done between uses, the machine should be run idle for a period of time to allow the oil to fully soak and shake off excess oil. Then, use a clean soft cloth to wipe the machine head and tabletop clean to avoid dirtying the sewing material. Then thread and sew the broken fabric, use the motion of the sewing thread to wipe it clean, and throw out any excess oil stains until there are no oil stains on the broken fabric, and then proceed with formal sewing.
The refueling areas include:
1) The various oil holes on the machine head lubricate the upper shaft and the components connected to the upper shaft.
2) The components inside the panel and the movable parts connected to each component. Lubricate the presser foot rod, needle rod, and the components connected to them.
3) Clean the moving parts of the lower components of the machine board and add less oil.
The amount of fuel added to each refueling hole and refueling area does not need to be too much, just one or two drops are enough.
Secondly, when maintaining a sewing machine, the following points should also be noted:
After completing the work, insert the needle into the pinhole plate, lift the presser foot, and cover the machine head with a hood to prevent dust from entering.
2. When starting work, first check the main components, the weight of the stepping, whether there are any special sounds, whether the needle is normal, etc. If any abnormal phenomena are found, they should be repaired in a timely manner.
After a considerable period of use, the machine needs to undergo a major overhaul. If any parts with significant wear are found, they should be replaced with new ones.
